Six classes of schoolchildren – one class each in Canada, The Netherlands, Germany, England, France ans Sweden – are the lucky winners of the 2022 Golden Flower Bulb Award. They won this award by participating in the Bulbs4Kids flower bulb project.
Bulbs4Kids
These six classes received the 2022 Golden Flower Bulb Award because they and 2,250 other classes of schoolchildren in Canada, The Netherlands, Germany, England, France and Sweden signed up for the Bulbs4Kids flower bulb project. Bulbs4Kids is an international project meant to acquaint children in elementary schools with flower bulbs by means of fun, hands-on activities.
Contest
To make planting flower bulbs even more exciting, the Bulbs4Kids project also included a photo and video competition. To become eligible for the 2022 Golden Flower Bulb Award, more than 1,000 of the participating classes submitted photos and videos. But there could be only one lucky winner in each of the four countries. The winning classes are:
- Canada: James McKinney Elementary School (Grade 1) from Richmond
- The Netherlands: IKC de Paradijsvogel (Groep 5 en 6) from Vogelenzang
- Germany: OGS August-Döhr-Schule (Klasse 1-4) from Marl
- England: Roundwood primary (Class N-6) from Harpenden
- France: École Notre Dame (CP – CE – CM) from Lavoute-Chilhac
- Sweden: Kättilsmåla skola (F-1) from Karlskrona
Each of these winning classes received a 2022 Golden Flower Bulb Award trophy, a certificate for their classroom, a certificate for each child to take home, and a gift.
